The group held its Presentation Evening on 9 December at which the Writer of the Year was announced, as well as the following results for the Catherine Cookson Cup:

• Winner:  Jonathan Buckmaster: Miss Havisham in the Jakes
• 2^nd place:  Hilary Mackelden: My Man, Artie
• 3^rd place:  Gwendoline Coates:  Not All in the Same Boat
• Special mention for Ronan Kenny: A Ship in a Tempest
