I was brought up in London in a house full of books, films and music – still my abiding passions. I have written since childhood, whether it be a travelogue, story or review, and I’ve earned my crust as an editor and writer since uni. I moved to St Leonards, on my birthday, in April 2016, realising a dream of living by the sea (the childhood fantasy in Vita Sackville-West’s Tower transported to Daphne du Maurier’s Fowey). It’s proving to be the best thing I’ve done in quite some time.
I’ve written/ghostwritten and edited non-fiction – articles, reviews and books on film, literature, art, food and travel, in particular. I have a website, The Literary Shed, celebrating popular culture, especially crime/mystery and romantic fiction, film and the occasional literary cat. Currently, I am finishing a book of interconnected stories based on a London bus route and have just started work on an island-based mystery.
